Suitable for all who have an interest in restorative practice, this one-day workshop explores some of the key characteristics of conflict and the principles of restorative practice. It outlines some of the aspects and skills learnt from the Centre’s six-day Restorative Skills course, approved by the Restorative Justice Council. Using group discussions, exercises and some limited role play, the training provides participants the opportunity to gain an understanding of:
- the effects of conflict
- How conflict develops
- Formal and informal conflict resolution
- Benefits of either mediation or restorative practice
- The Restorative process
- Restorative skills required of a facilitator
- An outline of the restorative meeting
- Restorative practice applications
